Schools & Colleges

Lakeside offers a flexible approach to group visits with a wide range of options available for all Key Stages. Our innovative learning opportunities are cross-curricular and devised in collaboration with teachers, artists and students. We like to tailor your trip to suit your needs.

There are a few different ways to experience a day with us. Generally, school trip days are split into a morning and an afternoon session – how you fill those sessions is up to you.

Everyone involved was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the booking process and the trip itself. The workshop was great and the children really enjoyed looking around the exhibition (which for a lot of them was a first). Lakeside were great at keeping me updated throughout the process so I had all the information I needed and put together a timetable that worked perfectly for us, which is often tricky as we are a large school. One of the children even said “This is the best day of my life!" Thanks so much for a great trip!"

Visit the What’s On section of our website for information on Lakeside’s current exhibitions. Bespoke tours and workshops can be offered in response to exhibitions. For more information please contact Louise Kay, Learning Assistant:

Make a day of it and stay for lunch! We always offer a free lunch space for schools visiting us.

Why leave the classroom when a mini-museum can visit you? The University of Nottingham Museum’s travelling exhibitions are housed in genuine antique travelling trunks that are fascinating artefacts in themselves. The resources are treasure troves full of artefacts, replicas, costumes, games and activities based on local historic sites.
